Kids Party Games

Girl Dressed as A Clown

Penny Pitch !

This is one of the favorite kids party games where players get to win small prizes by pitching the pennies.

Ages 5 - 9

You Will Need :

- Any number of players

- A wall

- 10 pennies for each child, plus an extra 10 pennies

- 1 paper cup for each child

- A pencil or pen

- Paper bags filled with candy and small toys (the number of bags depends on the number of different designs you use).

Preparation :

Draw a grid on a large piece of paper and put it on the floor in front of the wall. Mark some of the squares with stars, some with circles, and some with triangles. Then fill small bags (plastic or paper) with candy or small toys and mark each bag with one of the designs in the grid.

Put 10 pennies in a paper cup for each player (you can write the players' names on the cups to avoid confusion during the game). Then spread ten extra pennies on the floor in front of the wall.

How To Play :

Give each player a cup with pennies and tell the first player to gently toss a penny against the wall, aiming it so the penny will ricochet and hit one of the pennies on the floor.

If the tossed penny touches one of the pennies on the ground, the player who made the toss retrieves his penny and the one he hit. (If the tossed penny touches more than one penny on the floor, the player may keep all the pennies hit.)

However, if the shot is missed, the player loses the tossed penny (it stays on the ground where it landed), and the next player takes a turn.

Any time a player's penny lands in one of the boxes containing a design, let this player reach into the bag with a corresponding design for a prize.

The game continues until all of the pennies are emptied from the cups or all of the pennies are gone from the floor.

Who Wins :

The player who has the most pennies at the end of the game wins.
